Lagotis glauca

Lagotis is an interesting plant.  Do you grow this plant?  The information I have indicates that it grows around the nothern Pacific from Alaska to Northern Japan.

If you are growing this species do you have any information about its cultural requirements?

I am looking for anyone who has knowledge of this plant. It is available via Japan, but not cheap. I am a retiree and a newcomer to Alpine gardening so I am trying to fit a lifetime of experiences into the years left. I like a challenge, and Lagotis glauca has caught my fancy.
