A friend of mine visited the area where these plants grow naturally (he didn't collect seed though). They often grow in full sun at least part of the day but along seepage lines in steep rock walls.

Fri, 07/20/2012 - 8:26amIn a cool climate like mine, I think it's best to give them a lot of sun and constantly moist soil. They don't bloom well in shade.
