Seed for this plant was labeled Silene hookeri. I have seedlings growing in different parts of the garden from dappled shade to full sun. The growth habit is very similar in all conditions. They have yet to produce a strong flush of flowers in the spring, but tend to flower all season with a few flowers here and there. Any ideas if it is a Silene?

Thanks Lori. I appreciate the ID. It's neat little plant. I wish I had been able to get a better close-up that shows the flowers better but they were all out of focus.
I just found the SRGC thread you had about this plant (www.srgc.net/forum/index.php?topic=7518.0). That helped a lot in clearing up the confusion between pumilio/pumila.
Oddly enough, Silene hookeri seems to be another of those plants for which seeds are almost always misidentified!
Your plant is Saponaria pumilio.
