Cyclamen purpurascens

This is a wide-ranging species extending from France, Switzerland, Germany east to Yugoslavia and Hungary.  It grows in shady to semi-shady woodlands and thickets at 300-1300 m. The foliage is more-or-less evergreen with the species never going fully dormant. The rounded leaves are variably marked with silvery-green. The flowers are reddish-violet, blooming summer to early fall.
