Here's Leptarrhena pyrolifolia in the wet meadows below Panorama Ridge, Banff N.P., Alberta. We were too late (photos taken in mid-July and early August) for the flowers, but the red ovaries provide a lot of colour.

I haven't actually felt the
I haven't actually felt the leaves (must do that) but they are described as being leathery and the common name in Flora of Alberta is leather-leaved saxifrage. The recent (I was going to say "new" then I checked the published date and saw 2013... how time flies) Alpine Plants of British Columbia, Alberta and Northwest North America by Pojar and MacKinnon includes the note, "This saxifrage is a great plant for rock gardens".
The colour of the seedpods is possibly better than the that of the flowers!
