Townsendia spathulata (cottonball)
Greetings,
I would like to introduce a unique Townsendia species I found 6 years ago growing on the limestone ridges that line the eastern side of Beartooth mountains in Montana. The plants resemble T. condensata, but key out as T. spathulata. I call them cottonballs because of the extra woolly appearance. Please enjoy the photos:
Erigeron from seed
I have seed of the following:-
aureus
compositus
ex compositus 'Rocky'
and gaudinii which I understand to be a European species.
Whats the best time of year to sow in the Northern hemisphere please, any other information appreciated?
Townsendia alpigena var. alpigena
I have a single plant of Townsendia alpigena (syn T. montana). This is a wonderfully colored little Townsendia from the Rockies. I have high hopes that it will seed around.
chrysanthemum articum Red Chimo
Hello all
New here but plenty of well known people from the SRGC forum.
Is this selection fertile and does it comes more or less true from seed?
Does anybody knows a seed company that list C. articum roseum and that is willing to ship to Europe?
Thank you for your help.

Erigeron pallens
Erigeron pallens is a relative rarity that occurs on rocky alpine slopes in Alberta, BC, in the western part of the former District of MacKenzie, the Yukon, and Alaska (Moss & Packer). It's also known as Erigeron purpuratus ssp. pallens.
Erigeron carringtonae
I picked up 2 seedlings of Erigeron carringtonae at our chapter plant sale today, grown by Elisabeth Zander from Alplains seed. Other than the one entry in the Alplains catalog, I can find absolutely no mention of this particular species. Is this a legitimate name? Is the plant THAT unknown? Is it misnamed? Help!
