Delosperma

Submitted by Broekhuis on

My clump of succulent labeled "Delosperma cooperi" produced a yellow flower yesterday. It's possible I shuffled the tag into the wrong position in an overhaul of the rock garden earlier this spring- but I haven't attempted to grow D. congestum for years, and never seemed to get lasting seedlings when I did. I did attempt Bergeranthus jamesii in 2012 and 2013, but am pretty sure they didn't survive the winter. Another case of confused seed identity?

Thanks. Now that you mention it, I did grow some D. nubigenum from seed a year or two ago - but never saw it bloom, and figured it had perished.
