Can anyone identify this plant?

I received this plant at our annual picnic at the CT chapter of NARGS. It bloomed from July into the late fall and the leaves and stem are still green in winter.

Hello Chris.

Does that plant is salt resistant ? We have a similar one in Brittany (France). I was told once it was coming from South Africa and grows in the wall of harbors by the sea. I need to dig in my file as I cannot remember the name - sorry..

Bye

Hi Jean-Luc,

Thank you for your response. I am not sure if it is salt resistant. The stem is woody and I was impressed how the flowers tolerated early winter weather. It is about 14 inches tall.

Clearly a Brassicaceae.  Looks like an Erysimum species, perhaps.

I think Lori S. might be on to something.  It looks like Erysimum alpinum.

Many thanks, Lori and Rod.  It looks just like some photos of Erysium alpinum. I think you got it!
