SeedEx--converting pdf file to Excel

Submitted by RPavlis on

does anyone know how to convert the past pdf Seedex files to Excel? I did it once a while ago, but can't figure out how to do it again.

the pdf format is very odd and online conversion tools I tried are not working.

It would be very nice if the Excel format was available online! It would be much more useful than a pdf.

I don't know of a way to convert the pdf's to Excel, but I do have the Excel files for the last 10 years of Seed Lists. Just contact me via email and I can send you any of the files. I am busy with the seed ex right now, but will send them out when I have time.

Since pdf files are easier for all to access (only need Adobe Reader) we decided to use that as the format for past issues online. We do offer the current year's seed list in .txt format that can be converted to spreadsheet (it is from comma separated version). The pdf files are the ones we use for the printed seed lists so they use tables and have sizing to maximize print space when done as booklets - thus the odd formatting.

Laura

Have you tried PDF2XL? It should be able to easily convert your PDF. There's a free trial version available, too.
