I didn't find a suitable thread so I decided to open one!
Lacking proper habitats for rock plants on my woodland I decided to construct a place and here is the result. Not quite finished yet but ready to put the first plants in place.
But what should I call it? A trough (oversized one), a crevice garden or just a rock garden? It measures about 1.8 x 2 m (6 x 7 ft).
My old shed with the !rock garden! in the background. The "slope" faces south and will have a little watercourse too. The frame is built of expanded clay blocks (leca). The north facing side looks at present like a foundation for a house!

Wow, that looks fantastic, Trond! What are (or will you be) growing in there?

Thanks Lori!
My problem is I wanna grow too much there! Have already planted some cacti supposed to be hardy (but probably disliking cold wet winter weather). Also smaller bulbs, saxes and you name it. All kind of plants needing good drainage and sun. And also some water plants in the little pond. The main face is sloping towards SSW to get as much sun as possible. I also built it a bit up to get both drainage and sun.
Nice project Trond.
