I wonder if someone can give me a 'heads up' on the name of this Crocus which i raised from seed as a form of Crocus pallasii . :-\
I wonder in fact if it is C.oreocreticus ?.
Wonderfully coloured stem and striped feathering.
Long yellow anthers on short white filaments.
Deep colouring in the throat.
The flowers close at night.
Thanks .
Cheers

Re: Crocus
Good forms of C. oreocreticus from Janis Ruksans, here : http://www.srgc.net/forum/index.php?topic=4369.msg170352#msg170352
Most of ours are paler .....
Re: Crocus
Maggi, your white C. oreocreticus is lovely, but I have to say, the strongly striped form that Janus shows on SRGC is outstanding!

Thanks Mark - yes it is pretty- it is not pure white but very pale with faint striping..... and yes, I do covet that strongly coloured form that Janis shows. ;)

Dave, I've never grown the species, perhaps Tony will chime in. Based on doing a google images search, I'd say you have the right name.
