I have been growing this Dicentra sp. for years and never got it to flower. Last year various members of this Forum advised that I should feed, feed, and feed again. So I did and, .... success! of a kind.... 1 flower spike, ;D
I always had it as Dicentra cucullaria, but now I'm not so sure. As I really don't know anything about this Genus, can someone advise me please on its ID? TIA 8)

Re: Dicentra cucullaria ?
Thanks Gene. The flowers are not fused its just the bad picture. I tried again today but to be honest the result looks the same. I'll try again when the flower spike has extended to its full amount, and hope my camera can catch some better detail. Unfortunately its poor for small objects and close up shots.
Re: Dicentra cucullaria ?
We'll know a bit better when the flowers open, but it looks like D. cucullaria to me also.
Re: Dicentra cucullaria ?
I think this is probably the best I'll be able to manage. As I now know they 'also come in pink' ( thanks Lis :) ), seems I may have flowered D. cucullaria for the first time here, ;D. Thanks everyone for your cultural tips, 8)

Re: Dicentra cucullaria ?
Thank you Rick. I am so pleased its the real thing, :) . Now its started, I hope I can keep it flowering ( maybe more profusely ) for years to come, ;D
After your post I found a few pictures of this pink flowered form here -

The leaves look right, but the flowers look like they are fused. Also, it should have white flowers. Can you get a better photo?
