I've a huge interest in my local native plants, but living in what is called the "Emerald Triangle" means I'm not hiking the back-counrty in the summer or fall.
Packs of seed are due to arrive over the next few weeks so I will most likely want to talk germination protocols soon.

While I wait for the seed exchange to begin, I wanted to introduce myself.
I have been lurking on the forum for quite a while... usually I'm more of a reader than a poster in general, but I finally began posting recently and I've enjoyed communicating with folks who have similar interests to mine. :)
After posting one message, I thought, I have to introduce myself.
I am a hobby-gardener with a small garden in the northern part of Holland.
It is not for the rockgardens, that I do visit your lovely forum, but for all the other great messages regarding to gardening, events, books and so on.
Well, not exactly Kiwi, I'm Yorkshire born and bred, but have lived in South Island, New Zealand for the last 11 years. My name's Doreen Mear (a.k.a. Hinchliffe in a previous avatar) and I garden on the proverbial Kiwi quarter acre surrounded by lake and mountains in the rain shadow of the Southern Alps. Don't have a greenhouse so everything has to take its chance outside.
My name is Steve Newall aka Jandals (flip-flops) . I live near Balclutha which is in the lower half of the South Island in NZ . I grow perennials for seed production and I try and get out and about in the hills here to see our alpines.
I'm testing my sig. But the main thing about me is I'm an Oak nerd. I mean, I've got it really bad for Oaks. Currently I am growing over 80 different species, hybrids and varieties. And I'm on the hunt for more.
I love alpine plants also. But my current rock garden is very crude and I want to change that. I know it will be a years-long process. But you have to start somewhere, right?

My name is Martin Tversted and I come from Denmark, Scandinavia.
My garden is located in what would be zone 6 in the heart of Jutland, the mainland of Denmark. I have earlier lived near the coast and could grow a lot of things which is impossible now. I use to grow hundreds of cold hardy opuntioids but have reduced that part of the collection drastically.
