I found these eriogonum in Nevada, near Austin, just south of Highway 50. June 20. They ranged in size from 6 to 12 inches in diameter.

Fri, 07/15/2011 - 1:23amJust because it is one I have grown (and lost) it looks very like E. shockleyi. But I have never seen them in the wild so am no expert. It is a wonderful genus!

These are very nice plants. They would need very dry conditions to do well as the desert in which they grow receives about 7 inches of rain a year.
