Beware Of Falling Rocks: My Road To Crevice Gardening

The completed crevice garden.

My Background

I am a horticulturist, but I was never much of a rock gardener. As the Director of the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens in Wyoming, I commissioned a new crevice garden as I wrote about in the last NARGS Quarterly. That decision was motivated mainly by its hail resistance, but I quickly became enamored with its resilience, beauty, and ability to survive on less water.
