Ooo, what forumist? Can you tell I covet cypripediums?  I haven't heard of anyone having success with any of the cyps except japonicum around here. Too warm in winter I guess, doesn't mean I won't give it a whirl.  Does anyone know where you can get baby cyps in flasks for semi reasonable money?  I just sowed seed of dactyloriza in test tubes a couple of weeks ago.  Wish me luck. I'll need it.

Jan in soggy Portland Oregon.

Jan, I once bought a flask with tens of baby orchids. However I did a big mistake when I transplanted the small plant to the growing medium (sphagnum moss). The mistake was that I didn't rinse the small plants thoroughly enough. The remnants of the growing medium from the flask was attractive for mould that ultimately damaged the roots of the plants. When I found out what was happening it was too late - they all died.

Hello Janet Novak,

I have collected seed in Alpes Mountains (This Summer) and i have sow seeds immediately in mix of sand ,heathland and garden soil.
Trichophorum alpinum germinated good but i dont know if the plants resisted well after the winter.
I have different type of condition in my garden, and i try multiple zone to grow the plants.

If you want , i could send you some seed, i think i have some !

What is the type of plants and garden you have ?

If you're interested to exchange some seed , tell me your list in PM, i have some seed for you.

See you later and have a good day !

Wonderful pics, Botanica.  The iris and the heavily spotted sax are especially fetching.

I am wondering about the color tags in the pots at the SAJA plant sale.  Do they designate a set price?
We do that with our not-open-to-the-public plant sale in August.
Yellow=50 cents
green=$1
red=$1.50
blue=$2
lavender=$3
orange=$4

Hello  RickR,
