Berkshire Chapter big Plant Sale

Saturday September 7, 2013

The Berkshire Botanic Garden is in Stockbridge, MA at the intersection of routes 102 and 183. Please park in the main lot near the Gift Shop, leaving the parking area around the Exhibit Hall open for those who are delivering trays of plants for the plant sale.

10:00 - 10:30 Coffee, tea, conversation

10:30 Meeting starts with business items and Show & Tell. Bring your own lunch; tea and coffee provided; dessert contributions are welcome. Meetings generally end around 2 pm

Morning Speaker: Donald LaFond

"A Michigan Rock Garden in a Gravel Pit"

Don found out that a cottage style garden wouldn't grow in a gravel pit so he started rock gardening instead. He joined NARGS around 1990. He's enjoyed being president and vice president of the Great Lakes Chapter of NARGS and collects Daphnes and dwarf conifers. His garden consists of sand, rhododendrons, trees, shrubs and other perennials.

After Lunch: THE BIG PLANT SALE

Purchase rare and unusual plants and seedlings at amazing prices.

The Sale is open to the public after members take their choice.

Donors get a first pick. Please pot up plants from your garden now to bring in September. Ask your favorite nursery if they would be willing to donate plants -- this is our largest fundraising event of the year. Bring a gardening friend, too!
