Alan McMurtrie is coming from Ontario, Canada. He has been hybridizing Iris reticulata for more than 30 years, achieving world renown for the colorful blooms he has developed. He has had plant shows and given talks in Europe and has been featured in distinguished horticultural magazines. He will be discussing breeding Iris reticulata, as well as wild Iris, including three newly discovered species. One of them, Iris sisianica, has a stoloniferous habit and grows in only one location in Armenia. He will speak in the morning and also in the afternoon after the Plant Sale.
The meeting begins at 10 with coffee and conversation. A brief business meeting and Show & Tell start at 10:30, followed by our program. Bring your own lunch.
Please bring donations from your gardens for our Plant Sale as well. This is an important source of income for our chapter.
