Thanks Trond... please put me down for some seed of G. purpurea; reminiscent of our bottle gentians.  Happy to reciprocate with G. clausa alba, the pods are forming but will be some weeks before ready to harvest.

You are on the list, Mark and Rick. I (or you) was lucky. I collected some seed Saturday evening and Sunday we had 20cm/8" snow! Not much seed to ind anymore.

Snow!  I did see your snow pics, seems so early to get snow.  Good news that you were able to collect seed before the snow.

Here the summer warmth (or heat, depending on one's perspective) just keeps on coming.  Yesterday it was 83 F in Boston (28 C) tying a 45-year record for the warmest temperature on that date... it resonates with me because I ran the Boston Half Marathon yesterday, I hate running in hot weather, and wouldn't you know it was the warmest day since they started this particular race 11 years ago.

I'm at our mountain cabin at the moment. But even here it is a lot more snow than usual.  Just one week ago they wore only shorts here (+20C). However today we have had some sun and the snow is melting slowly.

Well, Mark, I am impressed! Although I have some friends who run marathon (they participated in Budapest Marathon a week ago) I do not run - not even to catch the bus as I always take my car.... 28C is far more than I have experienced here in Norway this summer.

We noticed fresh hare footprints in the snow this morning and a lynx had followed too. A flock of black grouse cocks sat in the birch trees eating buds when the sun rose above the morning mist. I managed to take some (bad) pictures through the window - they are easily frightened off.
