bigger rocks make for a boulder statement

« on: July 18, 2011, 03:50:22 AM »

Okay, it's still summer over there so the yellow ones haven't started but it's winter here and Sternbergia candida has come into flower!

Not as floriferous as the clump Panayoti showed last year on the SRGC Forum but it looks like at least 3 blooms will open in succession and if the rain holds off long enough it may even get pollinated!
cheers

Very nice one Fermi
why not protect them with a small plastic tent
or two pieces of glass

I tried them twice
and both times they died
probably to cold here
