This common plant, svarttopp ("Black-top", Bartsia alpina) is a common sight in the mountains here and elsewhere, often close to water.

To late! A disappointment, I was to late to find "gullmyrklegg" (
Pedicularis oederi
) flowering. Here you can take a look at this splendid plant:

The dark flowers on the
Bartsia
look very decorative. I've never seen one in real life - none occur here, but a species (I don't recall which offhand) occurs as an introduced weed further east on the prairies.
I love seeing
Pedicularis
and we have 12 species here, apparently, mostly found on alpine slopes and in boggy areas... I've only seen about 4 species - must try harder!
Some more hemiparasites:
1) Yellow rattle,
Rhinanthus minor
, from our hike the other day.
2, 3) And a couple of colour variations on
Castilleja rhexifolia
4)
Pedicularis bracteosa
