I purposely tried to pick out some favorite images from your picture "album", and found it impossible.
Every photo and specimen, simply awesome!
I am hardly familiar with any of the genera. How high up were you? The scenery is superb!

Rick, we went up to about 3600 meter. The plants are really amazing in that part of Argentina. In one of the next few hours I will post some more.
The tour I organised was actually meant to explore the higher parts of Patagonia, for instance to find some more Rosulate Viola's.
The vegetation in this part of Patagonia is completely different as what we experienced during our former tours in Neuquen, Chubut and Santa Cruz.
Specially in 2010 in the province Neuquen we found an amazing number of Viola species, including perhaps a few re-introductions as what John Watson emailed me.

Tremendous as always, Ger.
I am in New Zealand in November (notice I didn't say 'unfortunately'), otherwise I would LOVE to travel with you.

Never mind Cliff, I'm sure you will have a very interesting time, always still of my wishes to see Raoulia eximia in its natural habitat.
Anyway, we return again to Argentina in November and December. Our group is almost complete. Perhaps one or two more could join but thats the level.

Lovely pictures, Ger .
A small request, please: In this forum , as in others, it is helpful if the names of the plants are included in the text so that the search engine can find the photos.

Absolutely amazing photos, Ger! I am just starting to learn about Andean flora. After discovering the website chileflora.com, I was captivated by the rosulate violas and Caiophora coronata. Does Caiophora foliage act like an extra thorny stinging nettle?

Good suggestion Maggi. I've been taken notes of these amazing plants and superlative photos, to properly respond in godd time (probably over the weekend). All of the NARGS Forum moderators have been proactive adding plant names in such cases and reminding users about doing the same, but as we're all working stiffs
, we catch up on these tasks when we can. I went ahead an updated this exciting topic with plant names. Thanks Ger for posting this rich assortment of alpine treasures.
