Well spring is coming up here
I rescued these "buzzy" frogs from the street before our house
moving them three meter to the street let them cold
they continued there job
Also the first Salamander from this year walked in our house

The last week a lot of frogs have had their spring walk to the tarn where they spawn. Unfortunately they have to cross a road and several are flattened every night. On the worst nights last year several hundred were killed. This happens every year but it is not easy to do anything with it as the road goes along the shore.

The same thing happens here in the spring. There are places where the roads have very small culverts under them just for the spotted salamanders to cross. My son was involved with this several years ago and also helped with the yearly count.
