Patrinia siberica

Description and General Information:

This species forms a low tuft of narrow, lance-shaped leaves. Stem leaves are paired and pinnatifid. The flower stems arise 10-25 cm, topped by a corymb of small, five-petalled, fragrant yellow flowers. Individual flowers are 8 mm across.

In the wild, this species grows in open forests, along stony streams and extend into subalpine meadows and gravelly slopes.  It occurs in elevations up to 1700m.  Its native range extends across Russia, Mongolia and into northern Japan. 

Cultivation:

This species requires full sun and a well-drained but evenly moist soil. It is hardy to zone 3.
