I searched everywhere for Turface, the hard-baked clay chips that look like cat-litter for use in growing medium mixes. Some Agways will special-order it, some bonsai places sell it for $5/lb. I finally found that John Deere Lawn Care franchises carry the same stuff with a different name for about $6/50 lb bag.
